April 2010:
Our collaboration in 'bringing nighttime entertainment back to Journal
Square' brings to a close our first season.
I thought the thoughts offered by an attendee at Friday's last show would leave us all with a sense of accomplishment, for surely we did accomplish a lot in taking a germ of an idea and building on it over the course of 18 months.
So while the 'bloom is still on the rose'.....let me say thank you to all who helped make this venture possible.
The trustees of the JSRC and especially its president, Jordan Galatz who attended almost every presentation Colin/Pattie/John and the many 'friends of the Loews'.
The staff of the JSRC - Jerry, David, Carol, George, Chris, Diana, Vince, Spencer, Dan and our maintenance and ambassador crew members.
Our artists coordinators John Alati and LaGuardia Associates and Rob Signorelli of the United Jersey Blues Network.
Media partner - The Hudson Reporter and David Unger and his staff.
Our partners at PANYNJ - joining us late in the season with PATH posters.
Our partners in the Sound Bites, meet & greet, at the HCCC Culinary Institute and Conference Center and Eric Friedman and his staff.
Our funding partners, The Provident Foundation and the Jersey City Urban Enterprise Zone and our colleagues at the JCEDC.
And in our presentation of the Egyptian Folkoric Group, the Egyptian Consulate and the many volunteers from Jersey City's Egyptian community. We have done something good and, although memories are short and today's challenges demand our attention, I hope all involved will share my sense of accomplishment and contibution that we have made to Jersey City through this effort.
Thank you,
Don Smartt
