A few weeks ago we gave you the soft opening preview of PJ Ryan’s Squared at the JSQ PATH Station but today they are officially OPEN!
The ribbon cutting ceremony included speakers from the PATH office, Owner, Michael Ryan, and Mayor Steven Fulop. Michael’s brother Eamonn did the honors by singing both the Irish and American national anthems back to back. Which is appropriate since it’s an Irish American pub.
Speakers noted the importance of Journal Square within Jersey City and how reinvestment like PJ Ryan’s Squared and other development projects, as well as planning guidelines, are helping to reestablish Journal Square as the commercial and transit hub of the region.
Anyone who walks through the Journal Square Transportation Center knows that there are retail spaces available and Port Authority representatives made it a point to say that PJ Ryan’s Squared is just the beginning of the changing tide within the station.
Eamonn Ryan’s Band will be performing tonight and every Thursday night with the unbeatable outdoor seating and amazing food it is quite the spot to be. All of this creates the perfect place for lunch or to unwind on your way home. We hope to see you out there!
